In fact, with so many locations to add to your list, knowing whether to start is half the battle. But Spain has something for all types of travellers including families, friends and lovers. From family resorts to party hotspots and cultural walking holidays in Spain, you can’t go far wrong!
Below, inspire your next adventure with our round-up of the top Spanish destinations to visit this summer.
Barcelona
Barcelona is the city that has it all. You can embark on a self-guided walking holiday and spend the week exploring its stunning Gaudi architecture, famous museums, and rich sporting heritage. If you’re feeling rushed off your feet, kick back and enjoy some tapas in-between sunbathing and swimming at the beach!
With so much going for it, it’s no surprise it receives the largest number of international tourists in Spain.
Mallorca
Mallorca is another classic Spanish holiday destination that shows no sign of fading. The island offers similar diversity, including beautiful beach resorts and a vibrant capital lined with excellent restaurants.
The Serra de Tramuntana meanwhile is worth packing your hiking boots for, while the port town of Sóller makes for a beautiful day trip.
Seville
The capital of the Andalucía region, Seville is nicknamed the ‘Frying Pan’ for its consistent warm weather, making it ideal for spring and autumn getaways. This bustling city is famous for its maze-like old town, lively flamenco shows and gorgeous ceramic tiles!
The Plaza de España, Alcázar Gardens and Seville Cathedral are all big-hitting attractions too.
Ibiza
If it’s dancing and good vibes you’re looking for, Ibiza has long been synonymous with high-end, late-night partying. Perfect for a group holiday with friends, it boasts many of the world’s biggest club nights and a packed season.
There’s a much quieter side to the island too though, allowing you to take a break from the hedonism or even avoid it altogether!
Valencia
Madrid might be higher on many travel bucket lists, but Valencia is another Spanish city well worth your time. It offers a colourful centre and old town – including a spectacular food market – as well as a long, unique park leading to a vast beach.
If you fancy getting active, one option is to rent bikes in the centre and cycle down through the park to the seaside. Make sure to refuel on a seafood paella before you head back – the city is famous for it!
Which of these Spanish spots take your fancy? If it’s more than one, you’ll simply have to extend your trip or return next year!
